new grassland by george griffiths

It’s interesting how,

When it’s all over,

Freedom takes over

I took the final leap,

To where I will water new grass to make it greener

I will no longer stand on grass that does not serve any happiness,

No matter how much I watered it,

Never did it change

Poisoned footsteps walked over the grass,

So it kept turning darker and darker

The leap was the moment I had grown brave enough for,

Feeling new,

There’s no holding back anymore,

I’m starting over

Here’s to freedom from poisoned grass,

From unhappiness
